Street Fighter V is already on the shelves! The day has finally descended upon us. PlayStation’s console exclusive answer, to Rare…err.. Microsoft’s Killer Instinct, has shown face. In some aspects, this Capcom title, which has about 30 odd years or so and about 40 titles(Clarence Lam: help me out on this number) in the making, redeems itself from whatever wrongs Street Fighter IV has brought forth. Unlike KI, Street Fighter V brings in 16 fighters from the jump which includes original player one and two, Ryu, Ken, alongside SF2’s Chun-Li, Bison, Balrog, Zangief, and Necalli. Alpha is represented by R.…

13 days until the scene explodes with Street Fighter’s fifth canon fisticuffs sequel and producer Yoshinori Ono is already spilling beans. Street Fighter V’s getting cinematics. Last week, SFV was given a promising cinematic mode, downloadable this June as a free DLC. For years, fans young, old, legally binded, and utterly through passion, have been filling the gaps between the various titles. From Street Fighter to Third Strike, Assassin’s Fist, the two animes(one being REALLY good) , and several other forms of media are able to piece together some sort of tale. Alpha being the binder of Street Fighter and…

2015 was an intense year for gaming. Both Sony and Microsoft vied for 8th generation supremacy, striking blows through the annual without pulling any punches. With the sales numbers not telling lies, both companies were able to throw shade and dirty dozens even though the game titles’ playing field was hardly even affected by either or. Not too many exclusives, but mostly terrible-but-good promises both intended to keep for 2016 with the likes of Rise of the Tomb Raider and Bloodborne exclusives. Battlefront relies on nostalgia while Evolve was hardly a proper show to shooters. Destiny was resuscitated and praised…

It’s insane. One minute, Square Enix has brought back Final Fantasy VII from the cult grave. Not just Cloud doing a Omni Slashes in the latest Smash, or PS4 getting the original PSX classic. The world-ending RPG is making a comeback, as many expected. Confirmed at the PlayStation Experience this week, Final Fantasy VII is getting an actual remake coming. Not a remastered. The trailer shows the title nearly pulling off a re-enactment of what 1997’s Squaresoft title presented us. The plan, the break-in, the Shin-Ra soldiers getting theirs, the attack dog of a boss battle. Everything seems nearly perfect to me.…

Looks like the Resident Evil ex-producer is at it again with American publisher Activision. As if the Destiny producer daddy can tear itself away from the last city on Earth to grant Platinum Games another shot at making 80s nostalgia cool. This time, with the Eastman-Laird property, Teenage Mutant Ninja< Turtles/em>. Transformers: Devastation wasn’t sweet enough for these guys, so Platinum Games is taking us back to New York with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants In Manhattan, so sayeth the book of Brazillian ratings system. Outside of that, there’s hardly any news on whether we’re looking at a similar case…

According to SRK, Street Fighter V’s DLC Roster’s cat’s out the bag. Alongside several player rankings, and tournament events in the Capcom Pro Tour, shows a list of many reveals for the first round to be additions to DLC: Fan/Fun: a new character presumably. Alex – Street Fighter III’s protagonist and current background character. Hasn’t had an appearance in playable rosters since Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Guile – Charlie’s mentee and has been looking for him since Street Fighter II/Alpha 2. This would be the second game the two have both been a part of, as fighters, together. Ibuki – Street Fighter III’s ninja. She’s…

You read that right. For many of you who did and know exactly what I’m referring to: you’re probably like me, jumping up and down because of this news. Sega might bring back its’ classic DreamCast title, Shenmue, and its’ sequel back from the graveyard pile inorder for us to get back up to speed on protagonist Ryo’s quest for revenge, according to the article. A quest that has started nearly 2 decades ago in gaming history. Shenmue was a breakthrough title and an amazing arsenal in Sega’s 128 bit console war alongside flagship titles Soul Calibur, Blue Stinger, Virtua…

After the latest build of Street Fighter V descended to a recent closed beta recently(with issues plaguing certain PS4 players), a certain mystical fighter has returned. Just look at that guy’s face as he announces the trailer! A beard, a turban Dhalsim actually keeps on to him, a new India train stage, and several new fight tricks, all seem to show face in the trailer. The same snail pace is kept…

Like clockwork, Capcom has revealed a new character for Street Fighter V at NYCC yesterday. A new background character in Street Fighter V, that is! Hey! You knew it was coming. There’s NO baiting here! After Yoshinori Ono let the crowd down for new roster changes, he reassured fans that Street Fighter 3’s protagonist, Alex, will be joining the ranks of Street Fighter V in some other fashion. Winding down to the last few character reveals of latest PC/PS4 Street Fighter sequel, Street Fighter V, and there’s already drama. No: Chun Li and Cammy aren’t going at it yet again. This is 2010s: the two made up since Super. We’re talking about Street Fighter V. The last few additions, to Street Fighter V, were a bit more warm-received compared to this weekend’s cold twitter reaction from SF V’s Ono to a leak from a certain gaming publication. I miss the good old days… Now I know that I’m not that old but, I miss the good old days before DLC, Pre Orders and Unfinished Games! I miss the days when games were released on time and just plain worked. It seems to me that the trend of releasing games on time and then applying “Day One Patches/DLC” is the new norm and I sit there and think to myself…why? When did we as gamers and consumers settle for sub-par gaming experiences, DLC locked behind pay walls, game breaking instabilities and just overall lackluster performance in the gaming…
