My Experience With Japan Crate
I had been eyeing this Japan Crate box subscription for a while, but never jumped on it until recently. I love Japanese snacks, so once I found out that Japan Crate was offering free shipping within the US, I really had nothing to lose. There are 3 types of Japan crates to choose from: Mini, Original, and Premium. I decided to start small with the Mini crate.

Per their website, the Mini Crate usually contains 4-6 items. There’s also a booklet included that includes descriptions of the items inside the crate, Japanese facts, contest information, and a manga. So without further ado, here are my thoughts on what I received.
Hot Chili Salad Pretz

These cracker sticks have quite the kick. I don’t have the highest tolerance with spicy foods, so although they’re tasty, I had to stop after eating about 1/4 of the pack. I’m curious to see if these are actually available in my area. I’d pick up a few more boxes.
Cookies & Cream Pejoy

I’ve had such a hard core devotion to Pocky that I never considered trying these. Thanks to this crate, I’ll definitely seek out more. I would think it’s pretty hard to mess up anything that’s cookies and cream flavored. I actually liked this better than the Pretz.
Purple Sweet Potato Sticks

They sure like stick-type snacks in Japan! Sweet potato is supposedly a seasonal flavor over there. I had expected them to be filled like the previous 2 products, but to my surprise they were hollow. The flavor was subtle and really, really good. I don’t know why I assumed it would resemble taro. Because it’s purple, that’s why! This was hands down my favorite from the crate.
Meiji Dice Caramel

These 5 little dice sized boxes each contain 2 individually wrapped square caramels. Nice and chewy, but not so much that it sticks to your teeth. I’m trying not to set myself up for cavities in time for my dentist appointment at the end of the month, so I’ll be finishing these up slowly.
Uranai KKO Bubble Gum
http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/r634/RCubedBlog/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-11/20151121_202614-1_zpssda6c8lq.jpg
Ever had a stick of gum tell your fortune? That’s what this does. Unfortunately, I had no idea what the fortune was on the piece I chose. The guide in the crate’s booklet didn’t help much. The gum, however, tasted like cola. Good stuff.
If anyone can help me figure out what this says, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Overall, I enjoyed all the items in this Japan crate. I plan to stick around with this subscription for a while, and look forward to another pheNOMenal crate next month.
